CHRISTINE BUIJS - Writer/Director

Christine is a filmmaker from Toronto, Ontario. As a child and

teenager, she was passionately involved in theatre and playwriting

and became enthralled with storytelling. She won her first playwriting

competition through Tarragon Theatre while still in high school, and

became a young Playwright-in-Residence at Tarragon.

 

She went on to study photography at Sheridan College. After

graduating, she focused on the entertainment and fashion industries,

capturing portraits of subjects including Catherine Hardwicke, Karen

Black, and Laura Vandervoort.

 

Incorporating her love of writing, directing and photography, she turned to filmmaking.  She started by working on music video sets and writing, directing, and shooting her own short films. She was recently selected as one of four directors from across Canada to participate in the NSI Drama Prize Program with her original comedic short film, Divorce Photographer. She is also a graduate of the Women in the Director’s Chair workshop (2013) and is currently developing a half hour comedy series and her first feature film.

 

 

SHANNON FEWSTER - Producer

Shannon Fewster is a Toronto-based Producer. She currently works for New Real Films and has produced several short films, including Divorce Photographer (2015), a National Screen Institute production, and CBC Short Film Face-Off Finalist Emily (2014), a BravoFACT production. She recently Co-produced

Sudden Master, a Kung-Fu web series.

 

After graduating from York University’s Film Production program, Shannon became a prolific production manager and producer. Short films Isaiah’s Birthday (2012) and Whatever Happened to Kitty Go Lightly (2014) have screened at film festivals in the United States and Canada.

 

She has had the priviledge of working as an Associate Producer on Born To Be Blue (2015) directed by Rob Budreau, starring Ethan Hawke; Gerontophilia (2013) directed by Bruce LaBruce, and Midnight’s Children (2012), directed by Deepa Mehta.
